  4. Shall be accurate and, where necessary, kept up to date.
  5. Shall not be kept for longer than is necessary.
  6. Shall be processed in accordance with the rights of data subjects under the Act.
  7. Shall be kept secure by the Management Committee who takes appropriate technical and other measures to prevent unauthorised or unlawful processing or accidental loss or destruction of, or damage to, personal information.

Cookies and Google Analytics

The new Village Hall website does not use cookies and has dropped the use of Google Analytics for tracking visits to the Village Hall website. This decision was made due the nature of the current Data Protection and Privacy Policy that was posted on the site as I was re-writing it. I have designed my sites to operate without the use of cookies and I have long been disappointed with the information that Google Analytics was providing. On balance, it was not worth the arguments anticpated from those that fear cookies and being tracked in general.

The handling of Personal Data

Personal Data is only relevant when a website user enters it into a website form. This, at the present time, only includes booking forms. No other data is captured from users visiting the website. See the 8 principles at the top of this page.

When you give your consent to use your personal info

You may have noticed that you have been asked if you consent to your personal information be used for future communications. This has been added as an attempt to allow you the Village Hall client the choice to either agree or deny the use of your personal information. This is in compliance with the GDPR rules and to present you, the Village Hall client, with a clear statement of how we approach your privacy.

You may change your decision, ask the Village Hall Commitee what your setiings are or to revolk a previous decision. To revolk your decision you can do so by contacting the Village Hall.

Secure Communications

The current website is secured using an SSL certificate. You will notice that the pages have a url https:// and possibly a padlock on an Apple device.
